FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before rolling LocalFix out to your city.
Do residents need an account to file a report?+
No. Anonymous reports are on by default. Each municipality can require sign-in if they want, but 30-second anonymous reporting is the default so nothing gets in the way.
How do residents track a report they filed?+
Every submission returns a confirmation code. Anyone can enter it on the Track page to see live status, timeline, and before/after photos — no account needed.
Can we customize what categories residents can report?+
Yes. Each municipality controls its own list of report categories (potholes, streetlights, snow removal, animal control — anything). Add, rename, reorder, or disable them at any time.
How does routing to departments work?+
Admins map each category to a department. When a new report comes in it opens a work order and routes to the right department automatically.
Who can advance a work order's status?+
Only the assigned staff member — and they must advance one step at a time (Assigned → In Progress → Completed → Closed). Org admins can override anything, so nothing gets stuck.
Can we use our own domain?+
Yes. Every tenant gets a subdomain like yourname.localfix.municipalcore.com, and you can point your own domain at it too. Ask us to help wire the DNS.
Can each municipality have its own branding?+
Yes. Set a primary color, upload a logo (coming next release), configure category emoji/labels, and add map center coordinates so pins land where they should.
Is there a demo I can try before contacting sales?+
Yes — the /demo page lets you sign in as a demo admin or staff member for the fictional Demo City. Rebuild the sample data any time.
How is LocalFix priced?+
Per-municipality tiered pricing. Reach out via the Get In Touch page for a quote.
Who runs LocalFix?+
LocalFix is a product of MunicipalCore. Visit www.municipalcore.com for the rest of our government-tech stack.
